Here is a sketch card of Osiris that I drew for the LEGENDS & LORE card set. Sketch card measures 2.5" x 3.5".
Osiris - was certainly established in the Egyptian pantheon by 2400 BC so he is a very early god. At first, he embodied the spirit of the vegetaion which dies each year with the harvest and is reborn. He came to represent death, resurrection and fertility, and is often depicted as a mummy. He was always a major deity, but he reached the peak of his importance under the Greeks, with a cult centre at Busiris, and also at Alexandria where he was merged with other gods to become Serapis. Osiris is the husband and brother of Isis and is the father of Horus.
PLEASE, NEGATIVE CRITIQUES ARE NOT WELCOME AND WILL BE DELETED. THESE ARE MY INTREPRETATIONS OF THESE CHARACTERS. DESCRIPTIONS ARE BASED ON VARIOUS STORIES THAT ALL DIFFER FROM VARIOUS SOURCES. THANK YOU.
